Tom's White Lightening

Standard MK1 3000E White/Black vinyl roof
Tom's Latest Capri:- This is my current Capri, a 1972 Mk1 3000E which I
obtained in 1996. The cars original owner, a lady from Hampshire, kept the car
until 1989. It was then predominantly dry stored until 1995, during which time
it changed owners several times, but covered only 130 miles. In 1995 the car was
put back on the road and given a full respray. In 1999 the engine was given a
complete rebuild. YRU 873K is in original condition with only 23,000 genuine
miles on the clock
Toms First Capri:- MK1 1.6XL 1971
YOH 854J was my first Capri which I owned from 1975 - 1981. After I bought it
I found it was first registered on 23rd June 1971 - my 17th birthday. I figured
this was some kind of fate - we were both street legal on the same day. YOH,s
color was Garnet, and although it was a 1.6 it liked to think it was a 3lt with
its wing badges removed and sporting a power bulge bonnet. Sadly it had to go in
1981 as it had done 102,000 miles on the original engine, and by then the body
was somewhat lacking in metal.
